Heads of Jewish Studies Programs
This professional development program designed for Heads of Jewish Studies in Britain, includes seminars, workshops and ongoing follow-up via electronic communication, including e-mail and video conferencing. Over the course of three years, the participants take part in two seminars in Israel and two workshops in Britain. Past topics have included: leadership development, curriculum in Jewish Studies, curriculum integration, differential instruction and the use of technology in Jewish education. Each participant completes a Case Study with the guidance of a tutor appointed by the Lookstein Center. Successful participants, who meet the academic criteria set by the Lookstein Center curriculum advisory board, are awarded a Fellowship at a ceremony in the presence of the Chief Rabbi of the British Commonwealth.
The program was developed by The Lookstein Center in partnership with the British Friends of Bar-Ilan University and the Agency for Jewish Education.
