I have found it thrilling to help people I didn\'t know and have enjoyed many of the discussions. I leave you with my personal gratitude and appreciation for one of the best endeavors in Jewish education today - you have helped countless educators improve their craft, encouraged important discussions and have been an open and dynamic forum for educational growth. The Lesson Plans at The Lookstein Center website are exactly what I\'ve been looking for! Thank you!!!! "

"Thanks for citing my video "Bad Attitude on Yom Kippur" (http://one.revver.com/watch/97933) as possible fodder for classroom discussion. You say it gives "simplistic" answers. I prefer "abbreviated" as a way of describing its answers to questions about why we go to shul on Yom Kippur and what we should be doing (tefillah, teshuvah, tzedakah), because these answers come from the machzor itself. The presentations and the Hasmonean video conference the following day ably demonstrated the power of video conferencing in Jewish education to supply the "Heineken" factor and to reach the communiites that conventional, limited resources are sometimes unable to reach. The Seminar has succeeded in putting video conferencing on to the ORT map and I anticipate that we will see an increased use of the medium in the near future both in classroom tuition and in teacher training. David Glaser Sydney, Australia (January 16, 2006)
Past President; Currently Judaic Studies Teacher, Masada College

"I have just completed an intensive two-day course at the Lookstein Centre situated at Bar Ilan University and thought it would be apposite to share my feelings and impressions. I can unequivocally state that the one-on-one tuition and discussions were both vibrant and electrifying. The commitment to torah and Judaism demonstated so tangibly by the likes of the calibre of Rabbi Eli Kohn, capably assisted by Rabbis Tzvi, Moshe, Yona and Shalom, served as a salutory reminder to me of just how privileged I was, to have been a part of it, albeit for only two days. Rabbi Kohn, in his capacity as curriculum development director of the Lookstein Centre has, together with his colleagues, developed and assembled a wealth of educational tools and resources to facilitate the dessimination of modern educational material and it's all there, simply ready and waiting to be utilized!! The past two days have been a truly wonderful Jewish educational experience for me - I have loved every moment of it and verily believe that it has empowered me to become a more knowledgeable Jew with a continuing commitment to our sound, ethical Jewish values and our rich Jewish heritage."

"Some networking sent me to Lookstein where Chana German, chik chak, was on the ball. How do you find a program to train guides to take upper primary children through an existing Holocaust museum? Within 2 days she had literature sites and suggested journals...with promise of further contacts in the network. A mini-Jewish Google, no less. Infinite thanks, Lookstein and Chana. GH"

Tzvi Pittinsky Ocean, NJ (September 21, 2005)
Teacher, Hillel Yeshiva High School

"...In reference to teaching the disengagement, I want to share my own experiences this early school year...Thanks to the resources on lookjed I came in prepared. I presented the PowerPoint presentation created by Camp Morasha [referenced on Lookjed] to give an overview of the issue. I debated whether I should share with them the letter from Rav Lichtenstein to Rav Shapiro [referenced on Lookjed] and responses to it. Ultimately, I decided that since the disengagement has already happened, to go through the full fledged debate about whether it should have happened was not worthwhile. Instead I showed a multimedia presentation called Torn Together created by Chabad [referenced on Lookjed]. It can be accessed at http://www.chabad.org/library/article.asp?AID=306272...I think that this presentation allowed my students to see the greater message of the story, that we are all Jews and despite our heated political disagreements, we are all one family. This message is one I think all sides would agree with and is the right tone to send our students living outside Israel about the uniqueness of the people in the State of Israel. "

Neil Fleischmann Paramus, NJ (February 06, 2005)
Guidance Counselor and Teacher, Frisch

"I've heard time and again on public radio that Sunday morning is time for the New York Times. But for me Sunday morning is for thinking and writing. These weekly moments are often punctuated by a fractured computer chime announcing the new edition of Lookjed. The fresh posts comfort me as I scan for familiar names as much (more) than anything else. In my head familiar voices I've encountered along the hills and valleys of life recite aloud. Recently there was the author (who taught in my high school) of the encyclopedic masterpiece that I turn to most often when preparing talks. Then there was one of the closest friends of one of my closest friends, who've I've shared company with in a kaleidoscope of contexts over the last 15 years. Then there was a post by the friend who lent me Teacher & Child by Ginot, in the summer of '91 as I prepared for my first full time teaching position. And there are colleagues and old friends galore. Thank you for establishing and maintaining this community. For me the nostalgic and social value of this site is major. May all those who make Lookjed a success be blessed to keep up the efforts that bring not only concrete assistance, but also emotional support to many."
