What is membership at the Lookstein Center?

Membership at the Lookstein Center provides educators with the opportunity to enhance their professional experience by welcoming them into a vibrant educational community where educators network and learn from each other. Both seasoned professionals and new teachers will benefit from the variety of resources and programs offered to them.

Membership revenues help support the Lookstein Center in our quest to provide Jewish educators programs with quality services and programming. By becoming a member and joining the Lookstein Center community you are not only getting but you are also giving—one of the most basic tenets of Judaism.

What resources and programs?

Each membership package brings specific benefits. These include: subscriptions to Lookstein listservs and our journal, Jewish Educational Leadership, access to our online professional development programs, posting free advertisements on our Bulletin Board, and discounts on publications and web-services offered by our partners. What is a membership package?

The Lookstein Center offers four types of membership packages: individual, school, organization and library. Each package provides a combination of the benefits listed above.

How much does it cost to become a member? The fees for membership are as follows: Individual - $50 School with up to 200 students - $250 Schools with 200 students or more - $400 Organizations - $400 Libraries - $100

How long does membership last?

Membership is for 12 months from time of payment.

I already get your mailings—doesn't this mean I am already a member?

Not necessarily. You are only a member if you (or your school) has paid membership dues in the past 12 months. If you are not sure if you fall into this category, contact us at member@lookstein.org.

I am not a Jewish educator—can I still become a member?

Of course! Laypeople who are interested in Jewish education are welcomed to our community. We can, and should, learn from each other.

If my school is a member, do I also have to sign up?

If your school is a member then all faculty and staff are members for the duration of the membership period; you do not need an individual membership. If you are not sure, contact us at member@lookstein.org and we will tell you if your school is already a member.
