Art Teacher Grades 6-12

Schechter Westchester, a K-12 Jewish independent school in Westchester County 30 minutes north of New York City that emphasizes academic excellence, Jewish values, and a strong sense of community, is seeking an outstanding art teacher who will inspire middle and high school students and get them excited about art history and the craft of art. This individual will be expected to create dynamic and active lessons that engage students in learning critical art skills. Equally important, the teacher will bring a proactive and collaborative approach to infusing the culture and ethos of the school with art, working closely on special programming and classroom lessons with the Directors of Student Life and Experiential Education as well as with classroom teachers.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate has:

Experience teaching grades 6 through 12 in a variety of art forms
Masters’ degree in art education is preferred
Background in Judaic education is a plus
