Design Engineering Teacher, p/t

SAR High School is a mission-driven, co-educational, modern Orthodox Jewish high school committed to student-centered learning in a challenging and supportive environment.

For the 2020-2021 school year, SAR High School is seeking a visionary educator and part time teacher in its Design Engineering program. In this program, students receive an introduction to coding, electrical engineering, digital design, 3d modeling, and laser cutting. Students create mini projects throughout the year culminating in a capstone project which is entered in a tri-state competition involving over 800 high school students.

Requirements:

1. Strong computer science background, with experience using Arduino circuit boards, electronics and circuit design.
2. Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, computer science, physics or related field.
3. Experience creating and delivering highly engaging, scaffolded, and differentiated STEM lessons.
4. Experience in the engineering or tech industry, with a startup, or tech related entrepreneurial endeavor is preferred.

SAR seeks someone with the passion, ingenuity, and drive to motivate and guide students in the creation of innovative and artfully executed engineering projects using the Arduino microcontroller, a range of sensors motors and components, and custom parts designed and fabricated using our laser cutter and 3d printers.
