HS History Teacher Kohelet Yeshiva

Kohelet Yeshiva, a private Modern Orthodox Jewish High School in Lower Merion, PA, seeks a full-time history teacher for the 2019-2020 academic year. Candidates should be able to teach a variety of high school history courses, including but not limited to World History, United States History, Government, and Jewish History. AP experience a plus. We are looking for a reflective candidate who is passionate about teaching and who enjoys working in an environment that promotes continuing professional learning.

Desired skills and experience include:
A degree in history or related field, or a degree in education with coursework in history/social studies, or experience teaching high school history.
Ability to connect with students and convey enthusiasm for content and skills of courses.
Ability to support student development as analytical thinkers, researchers, and writers.
Ability to breakdown and scaffold content of history courses to maximize student learning.
Classroom management and organizational skills.
Ability to differentiate content for students with a variety of strengths and skill levels.
Comfort with educational technology, including computers and learning management systems.

Past teaching experience and certifications in Pennsylvania for history are ideal but not required.
