Lower School General Studies Teacher Leave Replacement

The Leffell School is a cutting-edge K–12 Jewish independent school serving 740 students on two campuses in Westchester County, NY, 30 minutes north of New York City that emphasizes academic excellence, Jewish values, and a strong sense of community.

Our Lower School is seeking a Lower Elementary General Studies Teacher leave replacement starting in spring 2021.

The successful candidate will be a dynamic educator who excites and inspires students, communicates actively with parents and colleagues, is able to plan and lead small-group instruction for students with proven ability to read above grade level and discuss books with depth and sophistication, can work with students with proven ability to grasp math and apply math concepts quickly, is familiar with project-based learning, and has a history of working collaboratively within a team.

Job responsibilities include teaching language arts, social studies, science, and math. In addition to working with students on content and skill areas, the team furthers our school’s mission by helping students to become responsible, honest, compassionate, and respectful citizens.
