The Yeshivah of Flatbush is seeking a qualified individual for a position in its Resource Room.

Opening for a Resource Room Teacher
Masters in Special Education
3+ years’ experience working in a school setting
Experience should include experience:
In areas of teaching and learning, classroom adaptations, and the development of academic skills and executive functioning.
With development of individualized learning plans.
With a variety of effective remedial teaching methodologies and strategies.

Qualities include:
Positive attitude and a drive for personal excellence
Exceptional organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with Hebrew language and/or Israeli culture preferred.

Teacher Responsibilities and Duties:
Teach either individuals or small groups of students within or outside the classroom bringing out the unique strengths of each and every child.
Plan, prepare and deliver differentiated instructional lessons that facilitate active learning experiences.
Integrate technology to provide a variety of educational activities.
Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
Observe, evaluate, encourage and provide feedback on each student’s performance and development.
Confer with parents, administrators, testing specialists, social workers, and professionals to develop Individual Educational Plans including making recommendations for academic accommodations designed to promote students’ educational, emotional and social development.
Support classroom teachers for the purpose of assisting them in the implementation of established curriculum and/or individual student plans.
Prepare a variety of written materials for the purpose of documenting student progress.
Document each child’s progress and status on the database.
