High School Special Educator
The Leffell School is a cutting-edge K–12 Jewish independent school serving approximately 740 students on two campuses in Westchester County, NY, 30 minutes north of New York City. We emphasize academic excellence, Jewish values, and a strong sense of community.
We are seeking two full-time special educators. One, to teach classes in our resource center and the other to work with an individual tenth-grade student for the 2021-2022 school year on our Hartsdale (Grades 6-12) campus. This person will accompany the student to classes and work with him in one-on-one sessions several times each day. Both ideal candidates are someone who has experience with a high school curriculum or the ability to learn content quickly, takes initiative, enjoys collaboration, is an excellent communicator, and is detail-oriented.
Candidates should understand unique student needs and be committed to teaching both skills and content along with self-advocacy and related strategies. Frequent communication with parents and other teachers will be required.
