Development Assistant

The Development Assistant will report to the Director of Development and is responsible for all donor relations administrative responsibilities associated with the Development Office.

Primary job responsibilities include:
-Manage donor database, Bloomerang, including updating donor information, tracking and recording contributions, creating mailing lists, preparing donor giving reports and campaign progress reports, and invoicing open pledges.
-Prepare and send donor acknowledgement letters on a timely basis.
-Arrange donor gifts and promotional mailings around Jewish holidays and major events.
-Update and maintain online giving forms through the Kohelet Yeshiva website.
-Serve as contact person for Parnas Hayom (daily learning sponsorships) and schedule emails in Constant Contact.
-Schedule Development Committee meetings, record meeting minutes, and follow up on action items.
-Serve as Grant Writer, responsible for researching grant opportunities, gathering data to support the grant request, and drafting and submitting proposals for funding.
-Serve as Project Manager for major donor events, including Annual Gala, Yom Ha’Atzmaut, donor appreciation event, etc.
-Work with Communications Associate to develop email communications, promotional materials, and updates to the school website.
-Work with outside vendors, including photographers, printing services, caterers, etc. as necessary.
-Track expenses, submit invoices to the finance department, and manage departmental budget, as overseen by the Director of Development.

-Bachelor’s degree required.
-Strong organizational skills with ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
-Experience in data management and administration.
-Experience in nonprofit fundraising preferred.
-Familiarity with Jewish day schools, independent schools, and/or Jewish community a plus.
-Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
-Ability to interact with donors, volunteers, faculty and staff, and demonstrate confidentiality and discretion.
-Experience with Microsoft Office and Google suite.
-Proficiency in Bloomerang is a plus but not required.
-Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
