The Ramaz Visual Arts Department seeks a dynamic and collaborative teacher for a full-time position beginning in late August 2022. This position will be in the Upper School division with the potential of teaching electives. The faculty member will develop curriculum in collaboration with other faculty, teach courses, offer individualized studio work, and work with students in small groups.
Ramaz’s arts faculty is committed to inquiry and play. We actively engage with New York’s broad cultural offerings to inform and complement our teaching. The curriculum is constantly evolving to incorporate new ideas and opportunities, and the ideal candidate for this position will be excited to innovate and learn alongside our students.

We are looking for candidates with overall visual arts experience in 2d and 3d media and a particular interest and joy in working with students at the high school level. A personal art practice and specialty is valued and encouraged. We are also interested in fostering collaborations with other disciplines, such as the Engineering/Technology department for the future Ramaz Makerspace as well as experience in printmaking, bookmaking, and design.
Responsibilities
Teach art courses for grades 9 -10
Develop curriculum aligned with and supporting Ramaz’s Visual Arts Department mission
Engage with school-wide community and activities, with the possibility of leadership roles
Collaboratively maintain and support our shared classrooms and equipment
Qualifications
An active visual art specialty and practice
B.F.A. or BA required; Masters preferred
3-5 years teaching experience primarily at the HS/college levels
Background in printmaking and book arts a plus
