Helping Children and Adolescents Cope With Trauma
The links in the menu on the right contain resources that address the role of schools in coping with the stress and emotions that follow disasters and emergency situations.
The educational resources available here can be used to develop materials and design plans to work with students during these difficult situations. Children who did not experience the loss of someone close to them are still at risk for prolonged anxiety.
Many of these resources were developed in the wake of September 11th, 2001 but can be adapted for use in dealing with terrorist incidents, natural disasters, and other potentially traumatic events.
