Islands of Resiliency

icon of life saver

This site addresses the role of schools in coping with the stress and emotions that follow disasters and emergency situations, including terrorist attacks.

The educational resources available here can be used to develop materials and design plans to work with students during these difficult situations. Children who did not experience the loss of someone close to them are still at risk for prolonged anxiety reactions.

This site was first developed after September 2001.
