1. Moshe's blessing to the tribe of Levi is very positive, in stark contrast to the blessing Levi received from Yaakov at the end of his life. What kinds of efforts are necessary for a person or group to redeem themselves from a negative perception that society has of them? What responsibility does that society have to recognize those efforts and accomplishments? What effect does that recognition have on those who made the changes, and on those who have not as yet made those changes?

  2. As did Yaakov, Moshe blesses the tribes prior to his death. Is our fate pre-determined by pronouncements from oracles and prophets? Can those pronouncements be reinterpreted to match reality? Who, ultimately, is responsible for our fate?
