In response to Uri Cohen’s request for recommendations of resources to help teach textual skills in Rabbinic Literature, I can think of few better books than M. Mielziner's Introduction to the Talmud. Published in 1894 (and therefore now in the public domain), it is available in its entirety as a Google digital book - [ia801404.us.archive.org]

Eliezer Segal's online Image Maps and Interactive Pages are also a useful introduction to the page layout of biblical and rabbinic texts - [people.ucalgary.ca]
