Is anyone doing a longitudinal study of the kids attending the Hebrew Charter schools and afternoon limudei Kodesh programs? The outcome of such a study has important implications for our community and others that have been challenged by a Charter school alternative. Most of those who recognize the singular efficacy of Day School education have predicted the probable sad outcome for students whose parents are electing to send them to Hebrew Charter schools but it will require serious research to prove, especially because of the variables of the after school programs, and some parents moving kids to traditional day schools by late middle school.
Has anyone already written on the subject based on data or perhaps someone knows of any such studies underway?
