<HTML>Response to children of Reform mother.
As to item #4..."the principal should respond...".

Is it customary for Yeshivot to ask for documentation on all students
status?

If there is some question as to a particular child's status, should
decisions not be left to the discretion of the family's rabbi? What right
does the principal of a school have in making the determination of a
child's status simply based upon community's "gossip"? I would suggest
that through the course of a family's integration into the school
community that they might come to the conclusion that they should seek
additional council from their rabbi as to Halachic conversion if they are
lovingly accepted and integrated into a traditional community.
Schools will always have "political" issues. I say focus on klal yisrael
and let the rabbis deal with the conversion issues!</HTML>
