I recently purchased a book from Amazon called The Vocabulary Guide to Biblical Hebrew by Miles V. Van Pelt and Gary D. Pratico. [

The book has a number of word frequency lists, the main one is a list of 1,903 words which appear ten times or more in Tanach. The nice thing about this list is that the words are featured sequentially according to how often a word/root appears and you are told exactly how often a word appears as well. A word which appears 101 times will come before a word which appears 100 times.
In their introduction, the authors suggest that students who master the first fifty words will be equipped to recognize almost %55 of all words that appear in Tanach, while students who master the 641 words which occur fifty times or more will be able to recognize over %80 of all words which appear in Tanach.
