have little time for extensive reaction and comment (I guess, a case of
being too busy with Chinuch to discuss it too much!).
A quick note regarding the recent point about zimmun, etc. :
As you said "the first issue is..." Meaning there are other issues as well
that impact on the Halachah of women's zimmun, Kiddush et al beyond that
of level of Chiyuv.
One of the very interesting ones, regarding zimmun, is the general
concept of women being considered as individuals rather than as members of
a group in Halachah (e.g. Eidut, Minyan, Reshut Harabim L'tumah...) and
the relationship of this idea to the greater level of tzniut that women
are supposed to aspire to. I have long discussed this concept based on
Shas and reshonim. More recently I saw the excellent discussion of this in
Rav Schechter's Eretz Hatzevi (pp.96-99). That discussion is extremely
important in its broader scope for the critical topic of tzniut in all its
forms, especially religious practice. This is, obviously, a much needed
topic for us to stress in our communities (for both men and women, in
terms of dress and deportment- and moreso in terms of approach to
spiritual and ritualistic matters)!
