<HTML>Those of you who have been with the Lookjed list from the beginning have
probably noticed that I see my job as moderator to be that of a
facilitator. Although I do minor editing (and major spellchecking) to keep
the posts readable, and have occasionally returned posts to their authors
for one reason or another, I have largely relied upon you to direct the
flow of the discussion. Through this list, I have learned a lot about the
mindset of Jewish educators in the field (at least those who enjoy writing
on email). More importantly, from conversations I have had with people who
read and write to the discussion group it is clear that participation in
the list has generated interaction between educators, who have "met" peers
with whom they have developed professional relationships.
In all honesty, that was my idea when I first proposed creating this list.
Even more important than the conversation itself is the knowledge that
such conversation is possible, that there is a community of educators who
are willing to work together and pool resources.
I write this as a way of welcoming over 100 individuals who subscribed in
the course of this past week. Please join us in conversation.
