In an effort to help our HS students understand their davening (the potential spiritual experience and the underlying practice) we would like to create a library of readings about God, prayer and the like for students to use to ground them selves. Short articles that balance the "feelings based" and philosophical with the technical and real. Some might give an insight into what we do in terms of physical position, or the halachot of when someone walks in late, and others might be more geared towards understanding the history of certain prayers or sections of davening, or the place of prayer and its function within the religion as a whole.
The articles should be able to engage with high school students, and should be sensitive to the sensibilities of an orthodox setting. Does anyone have any suggestions or even a full set of different readings?
Thanks,
Dan Rosen
