Dear all,
I seek resources about teaching about diversity in the North American Jewish Day School.
I am less interested in materials about machloket or internal Jewish diversity of opinions, but whether there are schools with curricular materials about the responsibility of engaging with the "other"--however they define it.
For example, at SAR High School, last year, in our annual theme of tzedek, our students engaged conversations about racism and privilege--which, in my small group discussions, resulted in student awareness about the limited scope of their engagement with people different from them.
Are there schools with curricula who engage with the diversity of the North American or global community in ways that are not limited to chesed or community service projects?
Or perhaps there are useful resources that address these or related topics during the formation of the Jewish day school movement in North America?
Thank you in advance for pointing me to resources.
Shabbat Shalom!
