We encourage you or a colleague to submit a proposal for the winter HaYidion. The theme of the issue is Jewish Inspiration. Article topics may include, but are not limited, to the following:

Is "Jewish inspiration" the primary goal of day schools?
What is Jewish inspiration?
How can we measure it?
The day school as a source of Jewish inspiration for the parent body and community
What does inspiration look like, in different kinds of schools?
Specific challenges that day schools face in inspiring students
Inspiring students at different ages and grade levels
Inspiring students in tefillah, Hebrew, Jewish studies
Inspiring for mitzvot
Balancing inspiration and content in pedagogy
Shabbatonim
Trips
Inspiring about Israel and Israel as source of inspiration
Keeping teachers inspired
How to inspire board members and donors
Lessons from a school rabbi
Working with non-Jewish staff on the Jewish mission

We look for articles that present ideas in fresh ways, offer the new, lesser known and unexpected, engage with the current literature and trends, reflect honestly upon challenges in the field, and have an eye trained on innovative, successful initiatives.

Please send short proposals, 1-3 sentences only, to me (erabin@ravsak.org) by October 19. Article deadline: December 12. No article will be considered without an accepted proposal. Articles are ca. 1000-2000 words in length.
