Re Joseph Schwarz’ question about Aggadeta in Masechet Megilla
My absolute favorite is the discussion on 15b where the Gemora attempts to determine why Esther was so determined to invite Haman along with Achashveirosh to her soiree. The various hypotheses are a wonderful study in human psychology, and the final response that they are all correct (!), an interesting application of “Eilu VeEilu Divrei Elokim Chayim†in a non-Halachic context, also supplies considerable food for thought.
