I feel that the quote from Rabbi Sacks is somewhat of a "straw man."I don't believe that anyone of the readers on this list would see an educational institution that imparted tremendous knowledge and skills , but left the students disliking the subject, as a success. At the same time, I am confident that Rabbi Saks is not advocating for an approach of solely focusing on love, to the exclusion of any content. The real question is not an "either /or", it is about what is the proper balance. Even then, it ought to not be a one size fits all issue, so much depends on the individual student and what stage of life they are in.
