<HTML>Is there anyone who is developing curriculum and assessing student
performance in conjunction with the ACTFL (American Council on the
Teaching of Foreign Languages) Proficiency Guidelines? I have aligned my
own teaching with them (with great success) and have used the SOPI
(Simulated Oral Proficiency Interview) to assess students' levels of
proficiency. I have also received permission from CAL (Center for Applied
Linguistics) to update and modify the HePI (Hebrew Oral Proficiency
Interview), but have found no day school teachers of Ivrit who understand
the 'language'.
