Shalom to All:
There are profound lessons inherent in the approach that the great
characters of Tanach were outstanding spiritual figures who were not
perfect and who occasionally committed an error. It has the potential to
inculcate tolerance for the flaws of those with whom we interact (no one
is perfect, even revered biblical personalities). It promotes self-esteem
as it can help us tolerate our individual shortcomings. Finally, it can
motivate us to engage in a lifelong process of self-improvement since
there is always room for improvement.</HTML>
