<HTML>Dear Shalom,
I would like to raise the issue of In-service teacher training for comment
and discussion. Has any school tried to "grow" its own Kodesh and Chol
teachers by creating an "intern"-type programme and mentoring the
teacher-intern through a growth and educational development programme.
(Please note the South African and British Spelling).
I would be particularly interested to know if such a programme has ever
been tried for kodesh teachers specifically. The Independent Schools
(Private) in South Africa are attempting an internship programme at the
moment and I am looking at ways of adapting the general application to
Jewish schools and Jewish Religious schools specifically.
