Dear Shalom and List,
In reference to the question about good/inexpensive programs for MAs in
Education:
I got my MA in Jewish education in the Block program for Azrieli graduate
school. I took 8 courses over 2 summers for free, the first summer on YU's
uptown campus in NYC and the second summer in Israel on the campus of
Gruss Kollel in Jerusalem (the scholarship also included airfare and room
and board in Israel). You only have to pay for 2 additional courses during
the academic year, which you can take for 2/3 tuition reduction at YU or
at some other accredited educational institutions if you live outside the
NY area. I found this program to be a quick inexpensive way to get an MA.
The courses were mostly worthwhile and enlightening.
For more info you can contact Rabbi Handel who is the dean for Azrieli
Graduate Program of YU.
