Re Home schooling
By promoting home schooling, surely we are in danger of breeding a
generation of Judaically learned hermits. The whole essence of Jewish
study - at any level- and indeed the deep-seated ethos of the whole
community is just that - community. If we are to lose the idea of social
interaction, of 'chevruta' in its widest sense, then we are sliding down a
very slippery slope. Of course there will be occasions when there are no
Jewish study facilities within easy journey and that is a totally
different scenario: I am referring to home schooling by choice.
