I find this idea very wrong from the halachik, hashkafic, and chinuch
perspective.

As far as we are concerned, there is no millennium issue.

Halachikally it may be assur to use the Christian calendar.
(In the name of honesty, Rav Tzvi Yehuda Kook insisted on calling it the
ta'arich notzri, not lo'azi.)

We should use this as an opportunity to educate about our, much older,
uniquely Jewish, under utilized, sophisticated calendar. (l'havdil, even
the Reform at their recent convention consciously removed from their
platform any mention of the millennium.)

Sorry for sounding so vociferous. This is one of my pet peeves that
bothers me very much.
