This question is for all those who are either an Israel advisor to high
school seniors or teaching in one year programs in Israel. I have a female
senior in a yeshiva high school in Connecticut who I'm having a hard time
thinking of programs to suggest. She really wants to go on a kibbutz for
the year, but her parents want her to be in a girls yeshiva program. She
therefore wants to be in a program that gives her time during the day, or
at least several times a week, to do what she wants around the country,
and a fair amount of independence in daily living (apartment vs. dorm,
cook own meals, etc.). Her reading skills are moderate, but her analysis
is sharp. She doesn't want to be in a program that has tests and papers. =

She basically doesn't want a repeat of high school. However, I know that
if she is motivated, she will spend much of her time learning. Does anyone
have any suggestions?
