<HTML>Regarding making Hebrew language instruction more interesting:

I believe that it was Dr. Alvin Schiff who reminisced about one of his
first teaching assignments when he held his students' interest by offering
simultaneous Hebrew translation of a live World Series game during
classtime (the students, obviously, were not allowed to hear it being
broadcast in English during classtime). I don=92t know if your class is in
Atlanta or New York, and most likely it does not take place when the games
are being played (Dr. Schiff had the advantage of afternoon games), but
you can try similar things. Perhaps buy a book of Calvin and Hobbes or the
Far Side, white out the original words, and put in your own in Hebrew.
Have a contest to see which student (or group of students) can get what=92s
going on first.

Let me know if it works.
