<HTML>Daat Mikra is very helpful, outlining chapters and clarifying ideas.
It also has great pictures that the kids will like. There are good
'madrichim lamoreh' out there, mostly available in Israel from Misrad Hachinuch, if you can get your hands on them. The BJE in NY sells a great one for $5. GO pick it up.
There is also an excellent book called "Oz Melech" by Yigal Ariel on Sefer Shmuel. He focuses on issues that other mefoshim don't pick up on. The older the grade, the more you can use it. The book is in Hebrew, as are all the madrichim lamoreh, so language skills have to be up to par. Good luck.
