<HTML>The issue of a role model seems a bit of a red herring to me. Frankly,
how much of a role model is the principal for most students, especially as
compared with the teacher? Do most of the "good" students have much
contact with him or her at all?
In my school, the Chabad Cheder in Seattle, WA, a woman is the principal,
although the school policy is currently set by a man (the official
Lubavitch shaliach for Seattle) who also takes a more active role in
overseeing some of the older boys' classes. As far as I am aware, the
principal's gender has never been an issue.
