Paul Shaviv warns that anti-Semitism cannot be ignored, given that students are hearing an reading about it in the media. He also writes that we must be certain that the information that they are getting "Reflects factually correct, balanced information (and not rumor)."
One of the challenges that we face in this world of "fake news" is that even news media that we can usually relay upon to report factually have been overwhelmed by their on biases. From the Algemeiner to the Forward there are reports that the entire discussion of the current wave of anti-Semitic acts, while truthful, are placed in a context that makes them appear more significant than they really are.

This is an opportunity to teach our children to think and read all news with a critical eye.
