Re: Jewish history textbook

I cannot suggest any Jewish History textbooks, per se, but I would recommend you look into two internet sites that provides a plethora of useful materials:
1-Aish.com
2-Jewishhistory.org

Both sites offer what are called "Crash Courses" and it may be that the rather short, focused and readable essays that they proffer might be suitable to classroom use (perhaps with some modifications).
