<HTML>For the past five years our school (Torah Academy of Bergen County) has
been running modest adult ed program. It consists of shiurim to the
parents paralleling the very same material the students are learning and
at the same pace. There is one shiur in Humash and one in Gemara (given
that our entire student body learns the same material in any given year
obviously makes this a little easier). The shiurim are obviously offered
on an adult level, and one goal of the program is to encourage parents to
discuss what they've learned with their kids. There are about twenty
parents (10% of the parent body) who participate regularly. In addition
there is a regular shiur every Sunday morning on contemporary topics
(given either by the faculty on a rotating basis or by guest lecturers),
to which parents and students are invited.
Anywhere between 10 and 40 individuals show up on any given week.
