Dear Shalom -

Two questions that I would like to pose to your list or perhaps 1
question

1. What about teaching prayer in the classroom? I don't mean just
when to bow and when to shuffle your feet - but the meaning of
prayer - why praying is something that should come from the heart
and how it works.

I ask this question as I met a girl who went to a very good religious
high school in Israel and she felt that with all that she learned,
nothing spoke to her heart - she is not the first person who has
spoken to me about this issue and I am concerned as to what is
being done about it.

(FYI Now she is on her way to becoming nonreligious - yet she holds out
hope that she will be able to find something that will give her reason to
remain in the religious framework.)

[Although we have touched on this issue previously on the list, perhaps
there are new suggestions that can be raised. Earlier discussions can be
accessed through the list archives. We anticipate making them searchable
by topic on our website in the near future. Shalom]</HTML>
