Steve Bailey's reference to Jewish Legal Writings by Women relates specifically to my sister, Aliza Berger's article – "Wrapped Attention: May Women Wear Tefillin" – which appeared in that volume.

Aliza actually launched a Lookjed discussion of this topic back in 2005 - [www.lookstein.org]

I will note that Rav Aharon Feldman wrote a scathing review of the Jewish Legal Writings volume in Tradition in 1999

The review focused on the Tefillin article as emblematic of everything that he found distasteful about the articles that were included there.

Feldman's review was included in a volume of his collected works, entitled The Eye of the Storm: A Calm View of Raging Issues, which was reviewed by Rav Aharon Lichtenstein in the OU's Jewish Action magazine. In his review, Rav Lichtenstein relates specifically to the question of women and tefillin. It is a worthwhile read -
