AMIT is recognized by the Israeli government for overseeing a national network of religious schools. The AMIT schools excel academically and outperform the Israeli average on the matriculation exams. Nevertheless, many of the AMIT schools are in rural areas. AMIT has had to deal with the effects of terrorism as it affects its 30000 school children.
Here are some responses from the terror attacks in August 2014. Complete details can be found on the AMIT website at [

The emphasis in these excerpts is on a personal touch and providing access to help.

AMIT educational network was founded to help the children of Israel - no matter what the need and in our uniquely tachlis manner.
20,000 more children in our network are being impacted by alerts or the trauma of having a loved one on the front line - a father, brother - or in the case of our 250 staff called up to fight - their spouses. In some cases, both the parent and sibling are in combat. Every single one of our children is being given a touch point- an actual or virtual hug - from a trained educator.
For all these children, AMIT is providing psychological counseling as needed and without limit to any child exhibiting signs of trauma or the initial signs of post-traumatic stress disorder. In many cases, some symptoms will only become evident months from now so evaluation and early intervention become critical.
We continue to work closely with the government of Israel and all our partners to respond to short and long term needs as evaluated by our staff at the crisis points in the south and throughout our network of 30,000 children.
AMIT has sent hundreds of packages to soldiers on the front lines - a token of our love and support between battles.
Across the United States, chapters have organized Yomei Iyun, Tehillim groups, attendance at demonstrations to show our support and many other activities.
Here's how YOU can respond now: Call your friends (even distant ones) in Israel and let them know you care. If you’ve suffered tragedy you know how much emotional support matters. Be a source of support.
