Can you help me identify values that are uniquely Jewish?
We often refer proudly to our adherence to and promotion of “Jewish values.†When these values are listed, I see values that may have origins or counterparts in Judaism, but that are not, or are no longer, uniquely Jewish. They are by-and-large Western or Universal values with Hebrew descriptors.
Perhaps this is a triumph of Judaism that as we enter the year 5778 our values are indistinguishable from those of civilization.
But…Can you please take a few moments to think of and to send me any values you believe are truly unique to Judaism?
Feel free to pass this request along to anyone who may have suggestions to offer.
Many thanks, and Shana Tova!
