Dear Lookjed Colleagues:
Our school has recently been bequeathed a substantial amount of money which is earmarked toward teacher professional development. Our goals to improve the culture of teachers as learners -- with the ultimate goals being retention of teachers and the cross-pollination of ideas across the faculty.
I'm curious how other schools allocate similar funds or budget lines. Some of our questions are: do teachers need to propose courses or training they wish to take? Is there a cap per teacher or per year? Are there items that would not be eligible for such a grant?
Please help me figure out how to make best use of these funds, which we think can really make a big splash here at NSHA.
Thanks!
