Shalom to all,
Just over three years ago, I was greatly (and literally) moved by a shiur from HaRav Shlomo Aviner shlit"a- later written up as an article and translated as "Is It Better to be A Rabbi Outside of Israel or Simple Jew in Israel." It's a combination of halacha, haskafa and mussar (both in how we view Eretz Yisrael and how we view ourselves). I highly recommend it.

I agree with Rabbi Paul that educators outside of Israel can educate for aliyah as they can clearly articulate aliyah as an important ideal and give support to those who live up to it. But the best lesson, and fully living up to that ideal, is when we make aliyah ourselves. And even if we don't end up as educators here, we still have much to contribute to the continued rebirth of Am Yisrael in Eretz Yisrael. For those who can achieve this ideal and live the dream, I highly recommend it!
