It is no secret that at least some of the mores of modernity in the 21st Century are at odds with traditional Jewish values and tradition. At the same time, our schools, summer camps and synagogues cannot ignore the fact that there are Jewish children growing up in our communities whose families would like them to be active members, but are not raising them in what are considered traditional Jewish homes.
I received the following query from an educator who preferred to remain anonymous. Given the sensitivity of this topic, if necessary, I am willing to post serious responses to this query without identifying the author (Just make a note of it with you post).

At a recent meeting of educators and school leaders, the question of admission of families with same-gender parents arose.
How can a school deny the admission for a Jewish child (assuming the child is halakhically Jewish)?
How can we visit the sins of the fathers (or mothers) upon the children? But, on the other hand, don't yeshivot need to uphold halakhic values?
