I am thankful for the detailed and thoughtful responses that have been
posted to my original query. I am more interested in hearing opinions on
the principle (no pun intended) than on practical suggestions. Does a
school have a financial/ethical/ other responsibility to maintain a
teacher who gave much to the school in the past but is no longer effective
and not interested in being developed professionally. In other words,
although "luhot veshivrei luhot munahim ba-aron", is it ethically
responsible to maintain or fire a teacher who is "shivrei luhot"?
