<HTML>I have enjoyed reading the discussions on this topic. I have used some of
the ideas in the classroom. For example, in developing the skill of
recognizing when there is a new statement by using "amar lay" ("he
said"), the student must recognize that there has to be a punctuation mark
before this phrase. I had the students in my 7th grade class find this
phrase in a piece of Gemara and attempt to figure out if the
punctuation before it should be a "?" or an "!" or just a period. It
really worked well.
I am interested in finding out if there is any difference to the way the
Rabbanan are quoted. Is there a difference between "and rav Yehuda said"
and "rav Yehuda said"?
Also is there any difference between the word "BEN" Yehuda and "BRAY"?
If any one has any answers to these questions or other skill ideas please
share them with me
