<HTML>RE: "Adult" topics.
Nehama Leibowitz used to tell the following anecdote to prove that
children can be sophisticated well beyond their years.
She visited a school in which all second grades were studying parashat
Vayeshev. In each of two classes, the teacher asked the same question
about Yosef and Mrs. Potifar: "Lamah azav bigdo beyadah venas ha-hutzah?"
After regailing the audience with her imitation of second graders trying
to catch the teacher's attention, she gave their responses. In one class,
a child said: "He lo ishto, vezeh fuyah" (Hebrew slang for yuck). In
another class, a child said: "Hu lo ratzah liheyot zon," creating a
neologism for a male prostitute in order to make the point.
We generally don't get to Vayeshev until the 4-5th grades; what's to fear?</HTML>
