We are planning to design a new building for our Pre-K - 12 school. I am seeking guidance and suggestions from colleagues regarding the utility and functionality of a traditional library. We all agree on the importance of books but given that most research today is done on line how important is it to allocate valuable space to a library which also requires hiring a librarian? Class libraries for "fun" reading will continue as will usage of school computers and laptops, and there will be sefarim in the Beit Midrash/shul.
All comments are welcome.
