Today libraries are "Learning Centres' with print and online resources. Libraries are no longer quiet places but a hub of activity that include the new technologies. Take a look at the School Library Journal to get sample.

Librarians offer services that are unique. They teach students the skills to find credible, and reliable information quickly using Research tools. I wish I had a nickel for the number of times a student said to me, "You found it in 5 minutes, I've been searching for three hours!!"

If we want our students to succeed they must understand the strengths and weakness of the internet, to critical appraise the information they find, and to use critical thinking skills to evaluate what they find. These are all tools that the Librarian teaches.
